Primary prevention of disease is vital in dairy herds to improve disease resistance and includes nutritional, environmental, housing, equipment, overall hygiene, and disease management. Regular inspection of udders and prevention of damaged skin is highly recommended to avoid diseases such as Udder Cleft Dermatitis (UCD) and mastitis.
UCD is a common inflammatory dermatological condition of the udder skin in dairy cows, localized at the junction of the udder and the abdomen or between the udder halves. Lesions can be slow and difficult to heal. The condition can range from a superficial dermatitis to extensive wounds, seriously affecting the health of the animal.

HoneyPro Vet Udder Salve provides the soothing, healing, and protective actions of Calendula (Calendula officinalis), Honey, and Aloe Vera in a smooth, pliable salve. Easily massaged onto udders and chafed skin, the salve may be used externally to maintain healthy udders and teats. Calendula is a valuable medicinal plant that provides antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and skin healing actions. Honey provides antibacterial and tissue healing actions. Aloe has soothing, demulcent, and hydrating actions. Zinc is an essential trace element with an important role in wound healing.
